The First Play Date

Ziva had her first play date yesterday. We went over to the Darrow's. Donna was watching her niece, Kahlen, who is 4 months. Both Ziva and I had a great time. It was awesome to watch the kids interact. It was also awesome to have someone fix me lunch!

Abi and the quilt I made her. Her favorite color is orange and all the other colors match her room.

Speaking of eyes...Ziva has a thing for grabbing eyes. Not so good for babies. For all you concerned out there we did stop her...every time she went for Kahlen's eye. We eventually had to move her face out of Ziva's reach.

Play time with Mr. Monkey. Yes, Mr. Monkey...He's metro.

Mmmm...lunch. All gone!

Nap time. She was out!

Once Daddy gets home it's playtime...again. Note her toys. Since she is still refusing to even think of trying to scoot or crawl, Ziva gathers all her toys as close to her as possible. It frustrates her when I move them to far from her.

Sunday Lunch

Ziva is still too small for restaurant high chairs and if she is awake she will not sit in her car seat. So on the table she goes for her lunch. It's cute...as long as you keep everything out of her reach. She is wellbehaved for a baby. Just sits and eats.

For the Grandparents

I keep getting the question for the grandparents..."Have you updated the blog?" So this one's for them. Just an everyday picture of Ziva doing what she does everyday...playing.

Poor Lil' Frog

Down here in the Deep South, along the coast, we have these little lime green frogs that stick to glass. Maybe they are in other places, we've just never seen them there. Anyhoo, these frogs are really cute but really loud. Louder to the ones I've heard in Arkansas. Especially when you compare the sound to their actual size. They sound like mentally challenged dogs barking or drunk ducks. Well, we had one living really close somewhere outside our back door. We never saw him or bothered him. We only complained a few times when it was hard to hear the TV over his crooning. Then today I realized as I saw him for the first time why I hadn't heard him in a while. That's our back door hinge you see in the picture.

Happy 4th of July

Today was full of firsts for Ziva. Her first 4th of July. First time to play outside. First time to play in a pool...a small pool. We all had a lot of fun. Maybe next year we'll do fireworks. God Bless America!

Ready to Jump in.

We did have company.

Here's to the Canards

Today is the first time in three years we haven't spend the Forth with the Canard Family. This makes us sad. We miss them very much!! Have fun without us.

6 months ago Ziva was small enough to be bathed in a bucket just like the one below. We took a couple home with us for just this purpose. I honestly thought this is what her one year picture would look like. I had no clue they grew so fast. Make it slow down!

She all but jumped out of the bucket and roller over to get a hold of Fulton. Poor cat. He is so doomed!

Kickin' Back

Ziva has learned the art of "Kickin' Back." I suspect from her father. Now that she has mastered sitting up (most of the time), Ziva leans back on the pillows behind her, takes a break then sits back up when she's ready to play again.

6 Months - July 3rd, 2008

Ziva is now 6 months old or 26 weeks. We made a big deal out of because we can and also there is no one else around to love on her. So we go over board every now and again. She had a fun time with all the paper products.

Taggie and Walks

Two of Ziva's favorite things are walks and her Taggie. Both please her so very much. She can play for hours (seems like hours) with her Taggie and she will ride in her stroller forever (as long as she's moving). I once missed her 3pm meal by an hour because we were at the mall and she kept quite until I stopped moving. I felt so bad but she didn't notice. The Taggie is by far one of the best gifts ever. Thank you Angela Miller! At first I thought why, but now I know. This kid loves tags, especially on her Taggie!

Stories with Daddy

With Mommy "KO"ed from the flu, Daddy took on some of her duties. One included reading to Ziva before she went to bed.
