Just so you know there really isn't any where good to camp in south GA. Not even the beach really but people do. Even if you found a some what okay place to camp it would still be close to 100 degrees in early June. Second best thing to the Ozarks is...well the Highlands in NC...the third best is your own back yard. Jason and I really want Ziva to be "outdoorsy" like we are...use to be...and realized that if that was going to happen we were going to have to improvise. Hence the campsite in the back yard. They had fun right until bedtime when Z freaked out and demanded to go inside. Eden and I had a nice time inside though.

I just want to point out that our daughter was totally potty trained at this time but her father refused to share a bed with her all night without some guarantee that he wouldn't wake up sleeping in pee.

Several weeks ago, Jason cooked us up a very yummy meal. It was a weird pairing but oh so good to eat! I am so lucky to have a hubby who loves to cook. It is a very welcome break, especially he's a better cook than me.

Yes, I made my husband and daughter dress alike when they went on one of their father/daughter "dates." I made them where the matching shirts I got them for Christmas. I love the picture shirt so much. I love that it is so true for them. And neither of them had worn it yet so mommy felt it was time. Maybe it was a bit much that I made Z wear khakis too.

My husband felt it was time to introduce our daughter to scissors. I, on the other hand, could have waited until she was in Jr High. I let him have this one without a fight, not even a word. She loved it. I can sit her at the table and let her cut stuff and she'll stay there forever. It is good for her, but the first time something gets cut that shouldn't I will have to fight reminding Jason that he started it all.

Well, sibling rivalry has started to slightly raise it's head. It is doing so in the form of the "attention getter." You can tell Ziva feels a little "misplaced" at times by her new found zeal for attention. She actually asks to have her picture taken. No we are not ignoring her (except when she whines) or leaving her out, it's just the way it goes when you have more than one kid...so we are learning. Yes, we are making time to give Ziva her own special one on one time. Still sometimes she can't help herself and when that time comes it's "Look What I can Do" moments.

We moved on from Fayetteville to OKC. While there we dedicated Eden at Jason's father's church. Faith in Christ is very important to us. It is also very important for us to live lives (through the power of the Spirit) that point our children to Christ and His sacrifice for us. We dedicate our children not as an act to "try and save" them but as a public display of our intentions and as a public request of accountability. Since we don't have a church home and are far from family we chose to have it in OKC. Of course could any place be more fitting? It is so very special for us to have our families there and Marty "officiate" the dedication.

Thank you Lord for our Eden Faith. She is such a wonderful gift from you.

A Fella Wedding

For those of you who don't know what a "Fella" is the explanation follows. For those of you who know these are the pictures from Jay and Sarah's wedding weekend - go ahead and skip to pictures.

Jason has a group of friends from high school/college that he still keeps in contact with. They call themselves the "Fellas." When ever they get together they pick up right where they left off. Each time one married, their spouse (usually before the wedding) is "initiated" into the group. This July the last Fella got married. You can look back on the blog and find out more about the newly weds...sometime last fall...I think. It is always a wonderful time when we all get together but it's never long enough.

I woke one morning and while going through my "waking ritual" I went to let Sera (our dog) out. Small sudden movements (all over our backyard) caught my attention. I stopped and watched. Our yard was covered with bees. It was neat...for a nerd like me. I have no clue why they were there. They were there for about 30 minutes and then they moved on. That gave me enough time to catch a few with my camera. I think bees are so amazing. Just love our Lord's creativeness! Only wish I had my new camera lens that Jason got me for my bday.

I love that he was so heavy he bent every blade of grass he landed on.

This is how Ziva watched fireworks this year. Inside and a day late. We tried day before when it was dark with only small fountains but she fell apart. It was really sad. So back to bed (we got her out of bed) she went. This is the only way we could get her to participate and she barely did this way. I would feel bad about it but I get it on high authority that she got this fear from her father. At least that is what his mom said.

Of course this post is up way passed when the picture was taken. Still I have to show Eden and what she has been up to. As you can see from the pictures, she is grabbing and playing and putting things in her mouth. She is also pushing up. Eden loves to stand and "jump." She has been "talking" up a storm for weeks now. She even laughs, which is kind of a big deal for us. Since Ziva didn't laugh till about 6 months and that was at the dog. I don't think Eden is easier to amuse. She's probably feels sorry for us.

As much as it makes my skin crawls, it is hard for me to tell Ziva that she can't love on Sera. When Sera isn't in the mood for a toddler then I have give Sera space. Times like this are so sweet. Ziva loves to get up in the morning, let Sera out to "go potty," and then hang out with her for a while. I bite my tongue so I won't lash out about how dirty and gross it is. Soon one day she'll care too much about her appearance to spend time with someone who would love her unconditionally.

So I will admit it. I am obsessed with these sister picts! I love them. I never even thought about it before but I love the idea of these two as sisters. I know that they will fight but oh I pray that they have a wonderful close bond and that the Lord blesses their friendship. It makes my heart happy to see them together.
